A learner may need another attempt. A visitor may have a follow-up question. A conversation can last longer than anyone planned. We want products using MeshLite to be able to make room for that use.
MeshLite gives AI products a live visual presence. We chose browser animation with longer conversations and repeated use in mind. That choice shapes both the experience we are building and how we charge for avatar rendering.
Plan for the conversations people actually have
When an avatar depends on continuous cloud GPU rendering, keeping it on screen carries an ongoing cost. Longer conversations mean more rendering time. More conversations happening at once require more capacity.
For a product team, those are two different questions: how long will people stay, and how many will arrive at the same time? Both matter when deciding what experience the product can afford to offer.
What our choice means for users
MeshLite animates avatars in the browser. This approach supports our decision to offer avatar rendering without a per-minute rendering fee.
Someone can spend more time practising, ask another question or return for another conversation without adding minutes to an avatar-rendering bill. Teams still need to plan for simultaneous sessions. MeshLite subscriptions and plan limits apply, and voice and AI services have their own costs.
Our aim is to give products more room for useful conversations, with a clear understanding of what grows with usage.
The experience has to work well, too
A lower rendering bill only matters if the experience is useful. The avatar needs to be clear and natural, speech and motion need to feel aligned, and the interaction needs to work well on the devices the intended audience uses.
Our work brings together avatar expression, speech synchronization and browser performance. We consider these alongside the task: does seeing a speaking counterpart help someone practise a conversation, follow an explanation or find their next step?
That is how we approach MeshLite: the way we deliver a visual presence and the experience people have with it need to be considered together.
